Overview

The Bentayga Odyssean Edition is an SUV like no other. A limited edition vehicle of just 70 cars globally, with many features inspired by those seen on Bentley’s centenary concept car, the EXP 100 GT, it includes numerous unique finishes, both inside and out.

Under the bonnet, it is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 hybrid engine, for excellent fuel efficiency and significantly lower emissions than its petrol-only rivals. Together with a range of sustainable materials inside the car, it provides a hint at what to expect from the future of Bentley.

Design

The Bentayga Odyssean Edition is available in a wide range of exterior colours, including six that have been specifically recommended by Bentley’s design team, because they work especially well with the car’s stunning exterior accent colour, Pale Brodgar. This light, neutral tone is applied in a gloss finish to the imposing 22” wheels, several sections of the car’s lower bodywork and other selected details such as the bezels around the lamps and the radiator grilles. The result – unique to Bentley’s Odyssean Editions – is both striking and understated at the same time.

There are Odyssean Edition badges on each of the car’s ‘D’ pillars and a Hybrid badge on the tailgate. And as you open the door to get in, you will step across illuminated Odyssean Edition treadplates.

The cabin is upholstered in three different hide colours. The primary hide colour is Linen and the accent colour is Autumn, a rich brown. The secondary colour is yours to choose from a palette of five colours that have been pre-selected by Bentley.

On the dashboard and the waistrails that line the inside of the doors, sleek Piano Linen veneers bounce light around the cabin, while the centre console features tactile, open-pore Koa veneers. Locally sourced wool tweed can be seen on the headrests and the backs of the front seats, while stunning ombré embroidery brings together three different thread colours on the seats themselves.

Performance

A turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine is teamed with an advanced electric motor to deliver the best of both worlds: the power and range you expect from a super-luxury SUV, along with the ability to drive at least 28 miles (45 km) in EV Drive mode (WLTP) – a significant increase compared to the previous model. You can reach speeds of up to 84 mph (135 km/h) without using the petrol engine, making even short highway journeys possible.

Together, the petrol engine and electric motor deliver 456 bhp (462 PS) and 516 lb.ft (700 Nm) of torque. With a full tank of petrol and a fully charged battery, you can go for 536 (862 km) miles without refuelling.

Technology

There are three driving modes that dictate whether the car draws its power from the petrol engine, the electric motor or a combination of both. By default, the car starts in EV Drive mode, enabling you to drive instantly on electric power alone, provided there is sufficient charge in the battery. Hold mode relies on the engine for propulsion, while preserving battery power and recharging it a little every time you brake. Hybrid mode allows the car to switch between the two. When the intelligent navigation system is operating in Predictive E-Mode, the car will automatically select which stages of your journey should be undertaken on electric or petrol power, with the aim of completing your journey with the minimum of emissions and fuel use. By the time you reach your destination, it will therefore have used as much battery power as possible.

To make long journeys easier and more comfortable, the car includes the Touring Specification, offering features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, a head-up display and a night vision camera.

The Front Seat Comfort Specification is fitted as standard. It provides ventilation in the front seats, alongside a massage function, winged comfort headrests and adjustable cushion and backrest bolsters.

Android Auto* and Apple CarPlay** are installed as standard, so you can easily access content on your phone. There is also a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot for internet connectivity on the move.

Connected services are accessible in the car and via the My Bentley smartphone app, which lets you check the status of lights, locks and fuel levels. You can also pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin before you get in, or start charging, as long as your car is plugged into a power source.

Personalisation

You can order a Bentayga Odyssean Edition in any one of seven standard exterior colours, If you prefer to choose a different colour, however, you have access to more than 60 other colours in Bentley’s extended paint range. There are also duo-tone combinations, as well as further options in the Mulliner range of satin and pearlescent paints. Across the entire range (standard and extended) there are six colours that have been recommended specifically by Bentley’s design team to complement the Pale Brodgar accents: Glacier White, Dark Sapphire and Onyx from the standard range, and Moonbeam, Brodgar and Granite from the extended range.

For the interior, you can choose a four or five-seat configuration. The entire cabin is upholstered according to a three-colour pattern that is exclusive to Odyssean Editions, with a Linen main hide and an Autumn accent hide. For the secondary hide, you can choose from Burnt Oak, Porpoise, Cricketball, Brunel or Beluga.
